What does my state require?

Check your state, right here.

Certification is national. Registration and licensing are decided by your state board of pharmacy. Choose your state to go to the board that sets the rules where you plan to work.

This is the office that decides whether technicians must register or be licensed in your state, and what it takes to do so. Look for its pharmacy technician page for current requirements, fees, and forms.

Board links are maintained by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. If a link has moved, their directory will have the current one. Requirements change on each board's own schedule, so confirm the rules there before you apply.
