The program
Yes. Lessons, digital textbook, workbooks, exams, workshops, office hours, and support are all online. The optional CVS externship is the only in-person component.
You move through 24 chapters in order. Pass each chapter exam at 70 percent or higher to unlock the next. No due dates.
It depends on your pace. Working steadily, you can finish in as few as 8 weeks. You have one year of access, and extensions are free up to 60 days if you need more time.
No. The program teaches the full body of knowledge a working technician needs, then prepares you for the PTCE specifically.
The APA digital textbook, a workbook for every chapter, video lessons, chapter exams, and study resources, all inside the program. A printed copy of the textbook is available for purchase online if you prefer paper.
You receive your certificate of completion and your PTCE exam voucher, schedule the PTCE with PTCB, and apply to your state board if your state requires it.

Yes. You'll need a high school diploma or equivalent. PTCB requires it to earn CPhT certification, so plan to have it before you sit for the exam.

Tuition and payment
Everything: the full program, digital textbook, workbooks, exams, instructor and student support, one year of access, a certificate of completion, and one PTCE exam voucher. $847 total tuition, payment plans available.
Pay in full, or split tuition through Afterpay or Klarna at checkout. Both give you full access the same day.
No. $847 total tuition, payment plans available. The only outside cost is your state's registration or licensing fee, if any, paid to your state board.
Federal financial aid does not apply. Payment plans through Afterpay and Klarna spread the cost.
The full program opens the moment you enroll and digital materials cannot be returned, so tuition is generally nonrefundable after any cancellation period required by law. Certification and your state
Completing APA is one of the pathways PTCB accepts for PTCE eligibility. APA does not administer the exam or award certification. PTCB does.
No. APA educates and prepares you. PTCB certifies you after you pass the PTCE.
Yes. One PTCE voucher, a $129 value, is issued when you complete the program, subject to PTCB's eligibility and scheduling policies.
No. CPhT is a national credential from PTCB. Your state board of pharmacy handles registration or licensure, and most states accept CPhT as part of that.

Externship
Optional. Enrolled students can apply for a 130-hour CVS externship, which requires a 70 percent program GPA, a background check, and a drug screen. It is not required to complete the program or take the PTCE.
